In Alta Badia, exciting skiing can be had off piste too, in the snowy silence far from the runs. It's a mecca for ski mountaineering enthusiasts, with various tours to explore Val Mezdì, the Sella massif, Cima Dieci, Croda del Becco, La Crusc or the Sant'Antonio pass, among others. And, once a year, the most famous race in the Alps takes place (by night): the Sellaronda Ski Marathon.
